Before Your Surgery

Medications

Blood thinners, aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin), Plavix, or NSAIDS If you have not received instructions from your prescribing provider and/or surgeon on if or when to discontinue these medications prior to your surgery, please call them today to receive those instructions.

Vitamins, herbals, dietary drinks, and supplements Must be discontinued 14 days prior to surgery (including Ashwagandha, adaptogens, aloe vera juice and excluding Vitamin D, magnesium, calcium and probiotics)

Weight loss, GLP-1/GLP-2 and diabetes medications If you are taking any weight loss or diabetes medications not listed, here please call your PCP or surgeon today for further instructions.

  • Stop taking 2 weeks prior to surgery

  • Stop taking 7 days prior to surgery

    Wegovy/Ozempic (Semaglutide)

    Mounjaro/Zepbound (Tirzepatide)

  • Stop taking 3 days prior to surgery

    Trulicity (Dulaglutide)

    Brenzavvy (Bexagliflozin)

  • Stop taking 24 hours prior to surgery

    Rybelsus (Semaglutide)

    Byetta (Exenatide)

    Victoza (Liraglutide)

Dr. Patel/Dr. Davis If you are having a colonoscopy with Dr. Patel or Dr. Davis and have any questions about your prep OR have not received prep instructions, call (317)872-1577.

Dr. Rowe If you are having a colonoscopy with Dr. Rowe and have any questions about your prep OR have not received prep instructions, call (317)338-7450.

Once you have completed your prep, you should not have anything to eat or drink.

Day of Surgery

Transportation

You MUST have an adult driver to take you home. They must come into the building with you and check in at the front desk. Your driver should stay at the facility during your procedure.

You MAY NOT leave the facility alone. You will not be allowed to take public transportation or a taxi, Uber, or Lyft by yourself.

Your surgery may be cancelled if you do not comply with these transportation instructions.

Bring with you:

  • Photo ID and insurance card(s) **if you do not bring these, your surgery may be cancelled**

  • List of medications and allergies

  • Copies of any guardianship paperwork or living wills/advance directives

  • Wear comfortable clothing

Do not bring:

  • Valuables and jewelry
